Design Inspiration: Unique Fireplace

I fell in love with this fireplace at my aunt’s friend’s house in Mexico. It’s kind of hard to tell, but the wall slants back at an angle and you build the fire in the back left corner. Is there a name for such a fireplace? I’d never seen anything like it.

She had a lot of interesting architectural elements and design features—turns out she used to be an interior decorator! I wish I’d taken a picture of these pair of super cute polka dot side chairs she had in her sunroom. Next time.
